ABOUT ALMALAND / ACCREDITATION AND RECOGNITION

Almaland accreditation and recognition

Check the formal status of the certification body and individual RecyClass schemes

Almaland sp. z o.o. holds Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) accreditation AC 246 against the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013-03. At the same time, Almaland operates as a certification body within the RecyClass system.

Not all RecyClass schemes conducted by Almaland have the same formal status. Some fall within the relevant PCA-accredited scope, while others operate under RecyClass recognition.

Key distinction
PCA accreditation applies only to activities included in the current AC 246 scope.
RecyClass recognition means meeting the requirements established by the scheme owner.
Status should always be checked for the specific scheme.
POLISH CENTRE FOR ACCREDITATION – AC 246

Almaland is an accredited certification body

The Polish Centre for Accreditation granted Almaland accreditation AC 246 for certification activities included in the current accreditation scope.

AC 246
PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013-03
The standard specifies requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services, including competence, impartiality, confidentiality, review, decision-making, complaints and appeals.
ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE AND ACCREDITATION SCOPE

Two documents that should be read together

Accreditation Certificate AC 246
Confirms Almaland’s status as an accredited body.
Accreditation Scope AC 246
Defines which specific certification activities are covered by accreditation. Holding accreditation does not mean that every Almaland service is an accredited service.
STATUS OF RECYCLASS SCHEMES

Four areas – status determined individually

Recycling Process
Accredited certification within the relevant PCA AC 246 scope + RecyClass certification-body status.
Recycled Plastics Traceability
Accredited certification within the relevant PCA AC 246 scope + RecyClass certification-body status.
Sorting Process
Certification body recognised by RecyClass – outside the PCA AC 246 scope.
Recyclability
Certification body recognised by RecyClass – outside the PCA AC 246 scope.

STATUS OF INDIVIDUAL SCHEMES

Accreditation and recognition must be considered separately for each scheme

Almaland operates in several RecyClass schemes, but their formal status is not identical. For each scheme, we therefore indicate whether the activity falls within the current PCA AC 246 accreditation scope or is conducted under RecyClass recognition.

RECYCLASS RECYCLING PROCESS CERTIFICATION

Almaland conducts this scheme within the relevant PCA AC 246 accredited scope and as a RecyClass certification body. The official RecyClass listing shows Almaland’s geographical scope covering Europe, Asia and Africa.

RECYCLASS RECYCLED PLASTICS TRACEABILITY CERTIFICATION

The scheme is conducted within the scope corresponding to the current PCA AC 246 accreditation and as part of Almaland’s status as a RecyClass certification body. The official RecyClass listing shows a geographical scope covering Europe, Asia and Africa.

RECYCLASS SORTING PROCESS CERTIFICATION

Almaland conducts this scheme as a certification body recognised by RecyClass. We do not present this scheme as an activity covered by PCA AC 246 accreditation. The official RecyClass listing shows a geographical scope covering Europe, Asia and Africa.

RECYCLASS RECYCLABILITY

Almaland operates as a certification body recognised by RecyClass. The scope covers design-conformity assessment for the European market and the applicable recyclability certifications under the current RecyClass rules. We do not present this area as covered by PCA AC 246.

CURRENT SCHEME VERSION AND ACCREDITATION

Publication of a new version of RecyClass documentation does not automatically mean that the new version immediately falls within a certification body’s accreditation scope. Activities must always correspond to the current accreditation scope and applicable arrangements.

GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE

The possibility of conducting a process outside Poland depends on the specific scheme, certification-body status, auditor competence and the current geographical scope defined by the scheme owner.

WHAT IS RECYCLASS RECOGNITION?

Recognition by the scheme owner

RecyClass defines its own requirements for certification bodies conducting individual schemes. These include, among other things, certification-body and auditor competence, training, how the process is conducted, audit schemes and rules for issuing certificates.

certification-body competence
auditor competence
required training
audit schemes and procedures
rules for issuing certificates
WHY DO FORMAL STATUSES DIFFER?

RecyClass includes several separate certification schemes

Each scheme may have its own audit programme, additional modules, requirements for certification bodies and auditors, and separate rules. The phrase “RecyClass certification” alone is therefore not sufficient to determine whether a process is accredited.

audit programme
quality management
additional modules
auditor requirements
geographical scope
certification rules
document currency
accreditation status

HOW TO READ THE FORMAL STATUS

The accreditation certificate, accreditation scope and RecyClass recognition mean different things

These concepts are often confused. Separating them makes it possible to determine the status of a specific service clearly.

ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE AC 246

Confirms that Almaland has the status of a certification body accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation against PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013-03.

ACCREDITATION SCOPE AC 246

This document defines which specific certification activities are covered by accreditation. Holding accreditation does not mean that every Almaland service is accredited.

PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065

The standard specifies requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services, including competence, impartiality, confidentiality, review, decisions, complaints and appeals.

RECYCLASS RECOGNITION

Means meeting the requirements established by the owner of the relevant RecyClass scheme for certification bodies and auditors. It is not the same as PCA accreditation.

CORRECT TERMINOLOGY

Almaland holds PCA accreditation AC 246 against PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013-03. We do not use the phrase “ISO 17065 certificate”, because it does not correctly describe the status of a certification body.

VERIFICATION SOURCES

Current status should be checked in the official PCA database, the current AC 246 scope and the official certification-body listings published by RecyClass.
